Producer pitching problems DropCue solves

MP3 attachments look amateur. A pile of MP3 files in a Gmail thread is the universal signal that you are new at this. Top-tier artists and A&R reps expect a single branded link, not a 14-file zip. DropCue gives you one URL with your producer tag baked into the page.

No track-by-track analytics. Dropbox tells you a folder was accessed. WeTransfer tells you a download happened. Neither tells you which specific beat the artist played, how long, or whether they came back. DropCue gives you per-recipient, per-track listen data so you know exactly which beats are landing.

Lost versions and expired links. The artist asks for the no-tag version a week later. The Dropbox link is dead. The original WAV is buried in a session folder. DropCue keeps every version (full mix, instrumental, tagged, stems) auto-nested under one parent beat, on a link that does not expire unless you set it to.

How DropCue works for producers

  1. Upload beats and stems. Drag and drop WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or MP3 up to 1 GB per file. DropCue auto-nests instrumentals, tagged versions, vocal-cut versions, and individual stems under the parent beat. One entry per pitch slot.
  2. Organize a curated pitch playlist. Build a playlist with sections like "R&B for project X" or "Trap top-tier." Add cover art with AI artwork. Add notes per track. Reorder with drag and drop.
  3. Share with the artist or A&R. Generate a branded link with your producer name on the URL. No login required for them. Add a password or expiration if the material is exclusive. Send the link by email, text, or DM.
  4. Track plays. Lock the link if needed. See who played each beat, for how long, how many times, and whether they downloaded. Toggle downloads off until the deal closes. Follow up with the artists who actually listened.

Feature breakdown

Per-recipient analytics. Send the same beat pack to five artists. See per artist exactly which beats they played, how many times, and how long. The artist who looped your trap beat four times is the one you call back, not the one who said they would listen and never did.

Alt mix and stem auto-nesting. Upload your full beat, instrumental, tagged version, no-tag version, and individual stems. DropCue collapses them under one parent track. The artist sees one entry per pitch slot and expands to grab the version they need. No more 14-file zips.

AI stem separation. Only have the full mix? Built-in AI stem separation splits vocals, drums, bass, and other from any track. Useful when you want to send a clean instrumental but only have the mixed master.

Password protection. Lock the link with a password. Send the password through a separate channel. Useful for pre-release exclusive material or beats going to multiple labels at once.

Branded share links. Your producer name on the URL, your logo on the page, your accent color on the player. Looks like a label sent it, not a hobbyist.

Expiring links. Set the link to expire in 7, 14, or 30 days. After the window closes, the artist cannot stream or download. Useful for time-boxed pitches.

Custom artwork. Upload cover art for each beat pack or generate it instantly with AI. Looks polished in the artist's inbox preview and on the share page.

Lyric transcription. Pitching beats with reference vocals? Built-in AI lyric transcription generates the lyric sheet automatically.

DropCue vs BeatStars vs Splice

BeatStars is a public marketplace built for non-exclusive beat sales at scale. It is genuinely strong for transactional volume, auto-licensing, and reaching producers and artists who shop the marketplace. Use BeatStars when your model is volume sales to a wide audience and you want a built-in checkout.

Splice is a sample marketplace and DAW project sync tool. It is excellent at swapping sample packs, syncing Ableton sessions across machines, and managing collaboration files. Use Splice for the production and sample side of your workflow.

DropCue is the private, branded pitch platform. It is built for curated pitches to specific artists, A&R reps, and sync clients, with per-recipient analytics, password protection, and download controls that public marketplaces and DAW sync tools do not offer. Use DropCue for exclusive deals, custom production pitches, sync briefs, and any time you need to know exactly which beat landed with which person. Most working producers use DropCue alongside BeatStars and Splice, not instead of them.

Use cases for working producers

Pitching curated beat packs to A&R. Send a labeled playlist of 5 to 10 beats organized by project, vibe, or artist fit. See exactly which beats the A&R rep played. Follow up with confidence.

Exclusive beats to artists before contract. Preview-only mode with downloads locked. The artist can stream and decide. Release the clean files only after the paperwork is signed.

Production portfolio for sync opportunities. A branded portfolio page that supervisors and music libraries can browse. Looks like a label catalog, not a fan site.

Sharing stems with remote collaborators. One link, every stem nested cleanly. Collaborators stream in the browser or download what they need. No zip files, no version confusion.

Submitting to sync briefs. A clean, professional pitch link with metadata, alt mixes, and instrumentals already nested. Read more in how to pitch music supervisors.
