How co-writer crediting works

Crediting a collaborator is the same action as sharing the track with them. Add their email on the track's Composers and Writers section, and DropCue takes care of getting the music into their hands. Here is the full flow.

1. Credit by email

On any track's Composers and Writers section, add your co-writer's email alongside their role and split. DropCue shows live whether that email already has a DropCue account, so you know exactly what happens next before you save.

2. They accept in one click

If your co-writer is already on DropCue, saving the track creates a pending co-write in their library, complete with your artwork and full metadata. They open it, review it, and accept in one click. There is no re-uploading and no re-tagging on their end.

3. Invite collaborators who are new to DropCue

If they are not on DropCue yet, send an invite. They get an email to claim the track when they sign up, with the credit already waiting for them. Nobody has to chase down a file or re-enter writer splits.

4. Share a whole album at once

Working through a full project? In the Edit Tracks panel you can credit a co-writer across every track you select and share the whole batch in one move. Your collaborator gets them all and adds them to their library with a single button.

Their copy is fully theirs

Once a co-writer accepts, the track is theirs to work with. They can edit the metadata, add it to playlists, and feature it on their portfolio, just like any track they uploaded themselves. Your copy never changes, so a tweak on their side never touches your library.

Each accepted copy counts toward the co-writer's own plan, so both of you keep clean, independent catalogs of the work you share.
