How DropCue Protects Your Music

Your tracks are your livelihood. Here's exactly how DropCue keeps them secure.

Private by Default

Your music library is completely private. No one can see, search, or access your tracks unless you explicitly share them. There is no public directory, no discovery feed, and no way for anyone to stumble across your catalog.

Secure Share Links

When you share a playlist, DropCue generates a unique private link. Each link is a randomly generated code with over 4 quadrillion possible combinations — making it impossible to guess or brute-force.

Password Protection

Add a password to any shared playlist. Recipients must enter the correct password before they can see or hear anything. Passwords are stored using bcrypt encryption — the same standard used by banks and major tech companies.

Expiring Links

Set an expiration date on any share link. Once it expires, the link stops working entirely. No one can access the playlist after that date, even if they saved the URL.

Download Control

You decide whether recipients can download your files or only stream them. You can also set different download permissions for each individual recipient on the same playlist.

No Direct File Access

Your audio files are never stored at a public URL. Every time a track is played, DropCue's server verifies that the listener is authorized before granting a temporary access token.

Per-Recipient Tracking

See exactly who opened your playlist, which tracks they played, how many times they listened, and whether they downloaded anything.

Secure Infrastructure

DropCue stores your files on Cloudflare R2 — enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure from the same company that protects nearly 20% of all websites on the internet. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
