You've found Sue Sheridan: Grammy Award-winning, Emmy-nominated songwriter based in LA, celebrated for her influential work in television, film, and popular music. Signed to Capitol Records at the age of 19 as Sue Steward, she got to work with experienced producers Michael Stewart and Danny Janssen. With Danny, she co-wrote and sang on the original Scooby-Doo cartoons as well as co-writing and doing vocal arrangements for Josie and the Pussycats. (can we link to article about that?) With Michael Stewart, she arranged and sang back-up vocals for Billy Joel’s Piano Man album. Soon, she signed as a songwriter with The Entertainment Company, working with great producer/songwriters like Gary Klein, David Wolfert, Sue Shifrin, John Batdiorf and Gary Portnoy. Her songs were recorded by Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Lynn Anderson, Crystal Gail, Sarah Dash among others. Later, signed to Paramount’s Famous Music, she and Paul Chiten co-wrote the top 40 hit “Can’t Wait Another Minute” for the British group Five Star. She also had hits with both the group America and artist Dan Seals on “You Could Have Been the One” written with John Batdorf. She and her partner Larry Treadwell had a top 40 hit with Martika’s song “Water.” Sue Sheridan's excellence in songwriting was recognized with an Emmy nomination for "I Still Believe in Me" written with Gary Portnoy for the TV series FAME. At the 28th Annual Grammy Awards, she won a Grammy for her work as a writer on the soundtrack for the movie “Beverly Hills Cop.” Sue is still writing today and is releasing her own EP titled “Songs for my Children.” From her early days in Kansas to her Grammy-winning achievements in California, Sheridan has left an indelible mark on the worlds of television, film, and popular music.
